JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst (Japanese Speaking) to join our software development projects with Japanese clients.
This role plays a critical role as a bridge between clients, the Vietnam development team, and other stakeholders to ensure business requirements are clearly analyzed, transformed into appropriate solutions, and successfully delivered.
The Senior BA will not only be responsible for requirement gathering but also participate in solution consulting, scope management, project delivery support, and improvement of BA practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Requirement Analysis & Business Consulting
- Work directly with Japanese clients to gather, analyze, and clarify business requirements.
- Understand business processes, client challenges, and business objectives to propose suitable solutions.
- Analyze requirements, define scope, identify impacts, dependencies, and potential risks.
- Translate business requirements into clear specifications for the development team.
- Identify unclear requirements and proactively propose solutions.
2. Communication Bridge with Japanese Clients
- Participate in meetings with Japanese clients in Japanese.
- Explain requirements, technical limitations, and solution approaches between clients and development teams.
- Manage Q&A, issue tracking, and follow-ups with stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment and mutual understanding between clients and offshore teams.
3. Documentation

Create and maintain BA documents including:
- Requirement Definition
- Business Requirement Document (BRD)
- Functional Specification
- User Stories / Acceptance Criteria
- Business Flow / System Flow
- Wireframes / Prototypes (when required)
4. Project Delivery Support
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Developers, and QA teams to ensure requirements are implemented correctly.
- Support issue resolution during development, testing, and release phases.
- Participate in design reviews, test scenario reviews, and user acceptance activities.
- Support requirement changes and change request management.
5. BA Practice Improvement
- Support and mentor junior BA members.
- Contribute to improving BA processes, templates, and documentation standards within the team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in software development projects.
- Experience working in a software outsourcing / offshore development environment.
- Experience working directly with Japanese clients.

Japanese proficiency equivalent to JLPT N2 or above, with the ability to:
- Participate in meetings in Japanese.
- Read and understand Japanese business requirements and specifications.
- Discuss and explain issues with Japanese clients.

Strong experience in:
- Requirement gathering
- Requirement analysis
- Functional specification
- User Story / Acceptance Criteria creation
- UAT support
- Good understanding of software development processes.
- Strong logical thinking and communication skills.

Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of:
- Web applications / Mobile applications
- Database & SQL
- API integration
- System architecture concepts
- Cloud / DevOps concepts (is a plus)

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working as BA Lead or Lead Business Analyst.
- Experience managing or mentoring a BA team.
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodology.
